School therapist Mary Burkhardt, has working alongside kids and teens for around 30 years. "The biggest thing that I see with teens is not a good match between stress and coping skills" Burkhardt believes social media has big impacts on teens, and is a big cause for their depression and anxiety in some cases. A smart way to get rid of anxiety and depression being caused by social media, would be take it away. Why not? If social media is the cause of a problem, why not just take it away? That is not always the case. For most teens it would be very unreasonable to take away social media.

Instead of taking social media, Burkhardt would prescribe other coping skills. Yoga, gardening, being outside, reading, sports, are all amazing coping skills that can work wonders.
